Local Government House

The Headquarters for the Union of BC Municipalities in Victoria includes office and meeting facilities, showcasing BC products (especially wood, including innovative Pine-beetle post, beams and ceiling) and is registered LEED® Gold.

In addition to efficient mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, and in addition to recycled materials from carpet to concrete, the building has two green walls and a green roof. We utilized marble tile flooring from Vancouver Island, and a new CRD-developed Beetlecrete product for countertops.  An important feature of this project included a Materials Display area for highlighting the innovative and local materials and products.
