Boulders Climbing Facility

The Boulders Climbing Gym expansion is an IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) certified World Cup Climbing Wall and support spaces added to the existing facility at Stelly's Secondary School in Central Saanich.

The project used a combination of standard steel and concrete construction, along with a pre-manufactured steel building to house the 70' high competition climbing wall. The south facade of the facility has a 50' x 50' retracting overhead door to allow for spectator viewing during events and a fresh air experience for regular climbing.

As well as an expansion to the not-for-profit climbing facility to provide additional washrooms, change rooms, storage and a workout studio, the project was completed to hold the 2013 IFSC World Youth Climbing Championship and also supports a successful high school climbing academy.
